                                                                                               Volume 10 • Issue 1 • Winter 2006

Editor's Note

The patients who have so generously shared their personal stories in St. John’s Healthy People magazine over the last 10 years are your relatives, friends, neighbors and co-workers. Most consider themselves ordinary, but their stories couldn’t be more fascinating or inspiring.
As Healthy People celebrates its 10th anniversary, we wanted to revisit some of the stories of survival, perseverance and hope that we’ve told over the years and provide an update on how the people behind the stories are doing.
In this issue, five amazing Ozarks women – Sara Skopec, Megan Jewsbury, Rachel Maples, Dee Dee Lennon and Annie Bach – reflect on their life-changing journeys through breast cancer, high-risk pregnancy and severe injury.
